is here with a few words on why your sleep might be disrupted.
Hint: it could be about optimising how you use your phone.
Do you struggle to fall asleep at night, even when you feel tired?
The culprit might be the screens you use before bedtime.
Blue light emitted by electronic devices disrupts our circadian rhythm and suppresses the production of our hormone melatonin, which helps regulate our sleep. This can make it hard to fall asleep, resulting in restlessness and fatigue during the day too.
Authors of a 2018 article in the World Journal of Biological Psychiatry say their study results indicate “blue light exposure may suppress melatonin, increase alertness, and interfere with sleep”. Not surprising then that as many as 30% of adults in the United States (over 105,000,000 people) reportedly experience some form of “sleep dysregulation” according to the article, as they check email, text, or play on LED-lit screens right up until the time they climb into bed.
Fortunately, blue light-blocking products are becoming more popular – we all know someone who wears blue light glasses!
But, if you’re like me and don’t wear glasses, or if you’re looking for even better protection, why not try blocking blue light straight from the source?
Luminary Anti Blue Light Screen Protectors can help reduce the negative side effects of blue light exposure from screens.
Luminary Screen Protectors is an easy-to-apply product that blocks harmful blue light while maintaining screen colour display, connectivity and of course screen protection.
It’s currently available for iPhones and soon we’ll be releasing products for other smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
Not only do Luminary Screen Protectors improve sleep quality, but they also help to reduce eye strain and improve visual comfort. This is especially important if you spend a lot of time in front of screens, ie students, office workers, and well…most of the working population!
A study published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine stated that blue light-blocking glasses significantly improved sleep quality in individuals with insomnia. This suggests that blue light-blocking products, like Luminary Screen Protectors, can be an effective way to improve sleep quality and reduce the negative side effects of nighttime blue light exposure.
If you want to get a better night’s sleep and reduce the negative effects of blue light exposure, I invite you to become a Luminary!
It’s an affordable and easy solution that can make a big difference in your sleep quality and overall well-being.
