SAMe (S-adenosyl-L-methionine) is the body’s primary methyl donor which is found in nearly every tissue and fluid in the human body. It is made from methionine, which is an amino acid in foods such as wild-caught fish, oats, sesame seeds and egg whites.
SAMe is involved in the synthesis and regulation of chemicals in the brain (neurotransmitters) that are used for stimulating and maintaining focus, learning, mood and sleep. S-adenosyl-L-methionine also supports: energy production in cells, maintaining healthy cell membranes, methylation pathways and the production of glutathione, taurine and cysteine – which may aid healthy liver function. SAMe also has a role in the healthy synthesis of connective tissues and may assist joint and bone health.
Seeking Health SAMe provides 12mg of S-adenosyl-L-methionine in each protective, acid-resistant vegetarian capsule (250mg per 2 capsule serving).
